About

St Austell Bay Badminton Club is based in St Austell, Cornwall, United Kingdom. The club offers both adult social and adult competitive badminton and has two clubs for children. The main senior club and both junior clubs are affiliated to Badminton England. The club is member of the Cornwall County Badminton Association and plays competitively in the West Cornwall Badminton League.

Join Us

The club is always keen to see new players whether wanting to play socially or competitively.
  • For social play the club runs an all year round weekly sessions at lunchtimes on Wednesdays.
  • The senior club which plays in the local league meets on Tuesday evenings from September to Easter but also welcomes those who don't wish to play competitively. 
  • There is a summer club that meets on Tuesdays from Easter through to the end of August in place of the Senior club.
  • The children's clubs also meet on Tuesdays from September to Easter.

Social Pay & Play

There are all year round pay as you play sessions.

Senior Club & League Teams

  • Senior Club nights are 7pm to 9pm every Tuesday at Tregorrick Leisure Centre.
  • The senior fee is £130, for students and pensioners it's £110. There is an extra £12 fee for those that wish to play in Badminton England tournaments.
  • Membership includes affiliation to Badminton England.
  • You can also come and play as a visitor to see if you want to become a full member for £7.00 per session for a maximum of 3 weeks.
  • Home matches also take place on a Tuesday night. 
  • Feather shuttles are used at both club nights and for matches.

Senior Summer Club

A summer club is organised between Easter and end of August.

Young People Clubs & Coaching

The Primary and Junior groups meet at Tregorrick Leisure Centre and are supervised by qualified coaches. The Primary group (under 11) known as Little Smashers is on Tuesdays from 5:15pm to 6:00pm. The Junior group (11 and over) is on Tuesdays from 6pm to 7pm.
